The clock tower has sculptural and graphic relief that depict the significant cultural events and people in the life of the historic Tampa Union train station on site. Four timepieces adorn the column. The design of the clock tower also reflects the architectural elements of the restored station and to on-site structures no longer in existence.

Commissioned by the City of Ames, IA, Public Art Program. The monument, located in Bandshell Park, is a tribute to the arts.  In the center of the monument is a bronze allegorical figure, creativity. She holds the seed of creativity in her outstretched arm. Around her, hanging in the five arches, are bronze to set medallions that depict five of the arts. These include: Fine Arts, Literary Arts, Musical Arts, Dramatic Arts and Athletic Arts. There is a bench seeding between the arches. The monument was designed style and scale to fit harmoniously within the Park setting.

 10)  The Shepard Historical Columns, Detail, Five pieces, Mixed Media & neon lighting, 8’x2’x2’ each, Providence, RI, 1999.

Commissioned by Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, Percent for Art Program, for the Shepard Building in Providence. The five columns, cast fiberglass, are located in the display windows of the former department store, each depicting period print advertising in three-dimensional relief. Each column depicts a twenty-year time span from 1880 on. The graphics and imagery reflect artistic styles of the period. Color changing neon light that shines through cracks in the columns is controlled by a computer.  Relief sculpted images are modeled in the time period style they represent.

The Shepard Historical Columns, Clay detail of relief sculpture.

12) Shepard Historical Chronicler No.2, Mixed Media, 6'x4'x5', Providence, RI 1999.
Part of the Shepard Building commission. The "machine" has five rotating drums visible through the window areas. As the drums randomly spin, they light-up, displaying print ads from the Shepard Department store. The ad images relate to the three-dimensional relief sculpt on the window columns.

Commissions

13) Guilin Harmony
14) River Beacons
15) Relics
 13) Guilin Harmony, Steel and acrylic, 21’x20’x20’, 1998.
I was invited to design and create this sculpture by the Yu-Zi Paradise International Sculpture Park in Guilin, People’s Republic of China. The sculpture, fabricated on site features a solar powered light that  illuminates the central sphere. The five poles represent the continents working to promote world harmony. The center light had to be raised from the original lower position as the water buffalo in the park liked to play with it, with their noses.

14) River-Beacons, Aluminum and acrylic, 22’x6’x6’(Largest section) 1998.
One of three pieces in a group, commissioned by the City of Providence for Convergence XI. The white spheres lit up with blue light at night. The location is the central Water Park basin in downtown Providence.

15) Relics, Four pieces, wood and fiberglass, 14’x3’x3’ each, 1999
One of four pieces in a group commissioned by the City of Providence for Convergence XII. The gold spheres were designed to reflect the light of the promenade and the Waterfire events. The pieces were located in front of the Rhode Island School of Design Auditorium along the waterway.

Gallery Art

16) Time Keep
17) Red Oxide Urn
18) Eve
 16) Time Keep, mixed media, wood and ceramic, 20"x20" x60", 1991.
The ceramic castle under the clear dome appears to have a relationship with the geared, clock-like machine below it (made of wood).

17) Red Oxide Urn, Ceramic, 12"x12"x28", 1991.

The ruins of a past civilization atop the urn conceal the ruins of an earlier civilization inside the piece, visible through the small window openings.

18) Eve, Mixed Media, 24"x12" x 68", 1991.
A female figure (wax) appears to be being created by a geared, clock-like machine (all wood).
